Custom Dashboard Development

Metrics with definitions, sources and drill-downs.

  • [01]

    Agreed metric definitions

  • [02]

    Sub-second dashboard loads

  • [03]

    Drill-down to source records

  • [04]

    Scheduled reports without manual exports

A dashboard nobody trusts is a weekly meeting about whose number is right. Ours print the definition next to the figure.

The problem with most dashboards

Two people read the same number differently because nobody wrote down what it counts. We start by defining each metric — the filter, the time basis, the exclusions — and publish that definition next to the figure.

Performance

Dashboards get abandoned when they are slow. We pre-aggregate where the shape is known, cache deliberately, and keep the interactive layer small enough to stay responsive on a laptop with twelve other tabs open.

When the data is spatial

Some operational data is not a bar chart. Floor plans, sites, routes, fleets, buildings, network topology — anything with a physical arrangement is read faster in that arrangement than in a table. Where that is genuinely true we build the view with our 3D web practice: rendered client-side, capability-gated, with a conventional table as the accessible equivalent. Where it is not true, we build the table, because a rotating chart is a cost with no payer.

Drill-down

Every aggregate links to the records behind it. If a number looks wrong, the person who noticed can check it themselves.
